The Vivo V70 Elite is a premium 5G smartphone focused on camera capabilities, high-end performance and a relatively compact design. It is available in Passion Red, Sand Beige and Authentic Black, with the latter using a glass-fibre back while the other finishes use glass. The phone weighs 187g in Authentic Black and 194g in the other colours. It also features a metal frame, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and IP68/IP69 protection against dust and water.
The phone features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 2750 × 1260 resolution, 459ppi pixel density and up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel supports P3 wide colour and has a claimed local peak brightness of up to 5000 nits under specified conditions. The high resolution and fast refresh rate make it suitable for streaming, gaming, reading and general daily use.
Performance comes from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, a 4nm octa-core processor with a maximum clock speed of 3.0GHz. The Indian phone comes with 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. Vivo also supports software-based extended RAM, while there is no microSD card slot for storage expansion.
Photography is one of the main strengths of the V70 Elite. Its rear setup combines a 50MP ZEISS OIS main camera, 50MP ZEISS OIS telephoto camera and 8MP ultra-wide camera. The telephoto unit is designed for portrait and zoom photography, while the front features a 50MP autofocus ZEISS camera. Video recording supports up to 4K, with Vivo highlighting 4K 60fps recording with Zoom Clarity.
A 6500mAh battery powers the phone and supports 90W charging. The V70 Elite runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, with Vivo promising six years of security updates. Connectivity includes 5G, dual Nano-SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GPS, NavIC, OTG and USB 2.0.
The Vivo V70 Elite is aimed at buyers who want a more performance-oriented alternative within Vivo's V-series lineup. Its Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset places it well above conventional mid-range processors, while LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage provide a fast hardware foundation for multitasking, demanding applications and gaming.
Its camera configuration is another major reason to consider the phone. The combination of a stabilised 50MP primary camera and a dedicated 50MP stabilised telephoto camera gives it more flexibility for portraits and zoom shots than many phones that rely mainly on digital cropping. The 50MP autofocus front camera is also useful for detailed selfies and video calls. The 8MP ultra-wide camera, however, is less impressive on paper than the primary and telephoto units.
The 1.5K AMOLED display is well suited to multimedia. Its 120Hz refresh rate keeps scrolling and compatible games fluid, while the high pixel density provides a sharp viewing experience. The 6500mAh battery is unusually large for a phone of this size, and 90W charging adds convenience for users who frequently need to recharge.
There are still a few compromises. Storage cannot be expanded, wired data transfer is limited to USB 2.0, and there is no wireless charging. The phone's camera system also has a clear imbalance, with the 8MP ultra-wide sitting below the two 50MP cameras in hardware capability. These factors are worth considering for buyers spending in the premium segment.
Vivo launched the V70 Elite in India at ₹51,999 for 8GB + 256GB, ₹56,999 for 12GB + 256GB and ₹61,999 for 12GB + 512GB. Current Vivo listings can differ because of discounts and stock, with the official store listing the 8GB + 256GB version at ₹66,999 when checked.
The V70 Elite is therefore particularly suitable for users who prioritise camera versatility, fast performance, a sharp AMOLED display and long battery life, while buyers focused heavily on ultra-wide photography, wireless charging or high-speed wired data transfers should consider those limitations.
