The OPPO F31 5G is a mid-range smartphone built for users who need dependable everyday performance, long battery life and a durable design. It features a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution of 2372 × 1080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen supports up to 1,400 nits of high-brightness mode and displays up to 1.07 billion colours, making it suitable for video streaming, browsing and reading. AGC DT-Star D+ glass adds protection to the display.
The phone has a slim profile and is available in colours including Midnight Blue, Cloud Green and Bloom Red. Its IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings provide protection against dust and specified water exposure under controlled testing conditions. However, water resistance can decline with wear, and the phone should not be treated as completely damage-proof.
The OPPO F31 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor with Mali-G57 MC2 graphics. The supplied configuration includes 8GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, with virtual RAM expansion of up to 8GB. Storage can be expanded using a compatible memory card, although the hybrid SIM slot may require users to choose between a second SIM and a microSD card.
For photography, the phone features a 50MP main rear camera and a 2MP secondary camera. The main camera supports autofocus and offers modes such as Night, Portrait, Pro, Panorama and document scanning. Rear video recording is available at up to 1080p at 60fps, while the 16MP front camera supports Full HD video recording at 30fps. These cameras are designed for everyday photography, social media posts and video calls.
The smartphone runs Android 15 with ColorOS 15. It includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, face unlock, Google Gemini integration, AI document tools and an infrared blaster for compatible devices. Connectivity features include 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4 and USB Type-C 2.0. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack, so wired audio requires a compatible USB-C connection or adapter.
A 7,000mAh battery is one of the phone’s main attractions. It supports 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging and reverse charging, offering a useful combination for people who rely heavily on their phones throughout the day. Overall, the OPPO F31 5G focuses on battery endurance, display quality, durability and practical everyday features.
The OPPO F31 5G is aimed at buyers who prefer a dependable daily smartphone with a large battery and enhanced resistance to dust and water. Its 7,000mAh battery is particularly appealing for commuters, students, professionals and travellers who spend long hours using navigation, messaging, streaming or digital payment apps. The 80W SUPERVOOC charging support also helps reduce downtime when recharging.
Its AMOLED display is a strong point for everyday entertainment. Full HD+ resolution provides clear text and images, while the 120Hz refresh rate makes supported scrolling and animations feel smoother. The Dimensity 6300 processor is suitable for regular applications, web browsing and casual gaming. However, buyers who play graphics-intensive games for long sessions should consider a more powerful device.
The camera system is practical rather than especially versatile. The 50MP main camera is suitable for routine photos, and the 2MP secondary camera provides limited additional flexibility. The 16MP selfie camera covers video calls and casual portraits, but users who want advanced zoom, high-resolution ultrawide photography or extensive video features may need a different phone.
Durability is another reason to consider this model. Its IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings offer protection under specified test conditions, but they do not guarantee protection against every type of liquid or accidental damage. The hybrid SIM arrangement may also be inconvenient for people who need two active SIM cards and expandable storage at the same time.
Verdict: The OPPO F31 5G is a sensible option for buyers who prioritise battery capacity, fast charging, a smooth AMOLED screen and added durability. Its main trade-offs are the entry-level 5G processor, basic secondary camera and lack of a traditional headphone jack. Compare the current Indian price and available storage variant before buying.
